I completed and passed the concealed carry course under Charlie. His class was, in my opinion, very comprehensive and detailed. There was much dialogue between Charlie and me concerning the legal aspects of the North Carolina laws pertaining to usages of the firearm. He was very patient with and understanding towards me. Charlie has always been very detailed with all of his classes, for as long as I’ve known him. I plan to take the other courses that he is offering in the near future. I, for one, am very satisfied with his class.
Mr. Charlie is a great instructor! He made sure that everyone understand the rules and regulations for carrying a concealed weapon. When I did not understand something, he made sure to clarify it before moving on to the next subject. He is a great teacher! I recommend him to everyone who is looking for a concealed carry class to take (whether you are an expert with guns or a first-timer!).
When sitting through an all day class, one can only hope for an interesting and effective instructor. Charlie IS that instructor. He knows his stuff and he keeps it interesting! I left feeling confident about my knowledge of the topics that were thoroughly covered.
Excellent class, well taught and good information. Range instruction was excellent, and Charlie kept the class moving along,was entertaining, serious, transferred the correct information, and made a long day, seem not so long. Great job!
Charlie is such an amazing instructor, teacher and coach. He made a very comfortable and informative classroom environment. His commitment to safety and technique on the range eased all anxiety and made it lots of fun. I will be recommending Charlie (and his wife, Tina) to EVERYONE!
Highly recommend. Instructor covers handling firearms and laws. Instructor is very patient with students. Great class, if you want concealed weapon training, this is the class to take.
This was a great class! Charlie is a great instructor, patient, and compassionate about teaching – not just issuing certifications. Charlie takes time to be sure everyone understands before moving to the next topic. Him and his wife Tina work great together. I will recommend highly to others and feel comfortable reaching out to them for any extra support .
At age 58, having been an avid gun owner and hunter all my adult life, I did not feel competent to carry a concealed handgun until taking Carolina Concealment & Defense’s concealed carry class. Charlie Mayo is a wonderful teacher, and his class instilled the knowledge, skills and confidence I needed to feel qualified to carry a concealed handgun.
Awesome class with an instructor who is passionate about the topic and very detailed on the training. I recommend this class only under the instruction of Charlie Mayo. You will not regret it!
When I enrolled to take the class, I didn’t really know what to expect not having much exposure to a semi-automatic weapon. Having known Charlie’s wife, Tina, made it feel comfortable for me and meeting Charlie, well, I felt more at ease. Charlie definitely knows his material, the laws, and has a unique style presenting that is easy to understand. His stories made the class laugh. Charlie is very passionate about protecting oneself and did an awesome job of educating the class. Great class, awesome instructor!!!
